三对现代夫妇试图兼顾感情生活和高要求的职业，同时摸索为人父母之道。一次飞船意外，长着黑人样子的异星兄弟（乔•莫顿 Joe Morton 饰）坠落在纽约，他能听懂地球人类的语言，却不会说。幸好在纽约不会说英语的黑人一大把，所以他也没引起人们注意。由于不懂地球规矩，他闹了很多笑话。当他学着别人从水果店老板的收银机那里拿钱时，引来了警察。落荒而逃的他在酒吧里展现了修理游戏机的绝活，在社工的帮助下找到了一份维修工的工作。 一次参观美国博物馆时，他对照着奴隶的照片向人们说明了自己就是外太空的奴隶，现在正被外星奴隶主派来的猎人追捕……。Jimmy is the only man who, after his divorce, still has to deal with his disapproving, meddling mother-in-law. When his ex-wife volunteers to go to east Africa to help the victims of a natural disaster, weekend-dad Jimmy agrees to take care of their two teenage kids full time in an attempt to win her back!。
